Desert Mountain Park

Queen Creek, Arizona

J2, as the prime consultant, managed the diverse team of professionals that provided design and construction services to the Town of Queen Creek for the award-winning Desert Mountain Park. This exciting park is the active sports complex for the Town of Queen Creek. A unique feature to the site is the underground irrigation water storage tanks that are located under the soccer fields. This underground storage not only allowed more space for other amenities but also appealed to the large equestrian contingent in Queen Creek concerned with mosquito vector control.

The site has been designed to accommodate an amazingly complete array of recreational needs, including: two championship lighted soccer fields, a championship lighted four-plex for both softball and little league baseball, parking for these activities, restroom concession buildings, restroom buildings, a maintenance building and storage yard, equestrian parking and trail access, an extensive multi-use trail system, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, group and individual picnic ramadas, a tot lot play area, an adventure play ismedicine area, a public events area, a small amphitheater and a desert botanical garden area. In addition to the park project, offsite improvements included ½ street plans for both Ocotillo Road and Hawes Road that are immediately adjacent to the site.
