Va Shly-ay Akimel Environmental Restoration Project; Mesa, AZ
Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers)

J2 is managing a multi-discipline design team composed of over nine sub-consultants, all involved in the design and development of the master plan for over 18 miles of Salt River restoration, which traverses through the City of Mesa and the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community of Arizona.

J2 is currently serving as the overall project management firm and has been coordinating the engineering design for the habitat restoration and revegetation plans, the wetland pond design, as well as designing a multi-use recreational trail system, a public staging area and overlooks. This multimillion dollar project will be a phased development encompassing almost 2000 acres of river corridor from Tempe Town Lake to the Granite Reef Dam and will include wetland ponds, extensive multi-use trails, and the rehabilitation and revegetation of this currently neglected and abused landscape. The project is currently in the Design Development Report and 50% construction document phase.
