In the autumn of 2002, J2 Engineering and Environmental Design opened its doors to provide professional engineering and landscape architecture services in Arizona. J2 was founded on the philosophy that engineering and landscape architecture need to work in unison for a project to be sensitive to a site, while providing the functionality that most projects require.  Since that time J2 has grown to a staff of 30, and now serves the Kansas market as well. J2’s founding partners, Jeff Holzmeister, PE, and Jeff Engelmann, RLA have a combined experience of over 50 years, in the fields of hydraulic and water resource engineering, general civil engineering, landscape architecture, environmental design, and support for public involvement.  J2’s reputation in the market has been solidified through relationships, innovative design, outstanding performance, and personal attention to our clients.

J2 is a minority-owned business enterprise and is a certified disadvantaged business enterprise.  J2’s Engineering Department specializes in general civil engineering with an emphasis on water resource engineering.  The Landscape Architecture Department specializes in master planning, park design, and construction observation for parks, recreation, open space, & trails projects.
